Durability meets functionality
When it comes to commercial design, durability and functionality are key considerations.
We recently worked on a project that involved the installation of Neolith 6mm stone in both external and internal wall areas of three mall entrance facades and lobby areas. Our goal was to ensure that the installation was robust enough to withstand the demands of commercial use. To achieve this, we collaborated with the architect designer, builder, and surface supplier.
To address potential challenges posed by minimal building vibration and daily thermal activity, we needed to ensure that the Neolith facade could flex and move independently to the building substrate. To accomplish this, we utilised the STRUKTEC™ system to create a robust installation that could withstand the demands of daily use. We additionally created purpose-designed corner extrusions to provide extra protection against corner edge impact.
In addition to the Neolith facade, we also installed natural stone veneer to create framed entry portals that interlinked seamlessly with the Neolith wall panels. To achieve this, we used the STONEMEC™ system. This created a beautiful aesthetic that enhanced the overall look of the design.
The benefits of using both the STRUKTEC™ and STONEMEC™ systems is that they have withstood impact from vehicles, supermarket trolleys, and daily pedestrian traffic. This makes them ideal for commercial use where durability is essential.
